This week, we are celebrating three victories that remind us why we do this work!

Attorney Pablo Palomeque and paralegal Miao Xu secured two approved Habeas Corpus petitions for clients who had been waiting for their chance at freedom.

And attorney Aminata Swarray helped a young client take a major step toward becoming a lawful permanent resident, through an Adjustment of Status approval in immigration court.

These were not easy cases. They took a long time to prepare, strategy, and genuine dedication to every detail. But behind each outcome is a person, and in some cases an entire family, whose life just changed for the better.

We are proud of our team, and even prouder to stand beside the clients who trust us with something as important as their future.

Congratulations, Pablo, Miao, and Ami!

"She paved the way with her representation, and she's the reason I achieved residency status." That's how Sergio described his experience with Jennifer.

There are few things more rewarding than reading a review like Sergio's, who shared on Google that Jennifer and her team kept him informed throughout his entire process, answered every one of his calls, and walked alongside him from start to finish until he achieved his permanent residency.

What moves us most about this testimony is that Sergio mentions Jennifer continues guiding him through his next steps, and that he has full faith in her representation. That's exactly what we aim to build with every client, a relationship of trust that doesn't end when a case is approved, but continues for as long as they need us.

Thank you, Sergio, for your trust and for taking the time to share your experience.

If you also want someone on your team through this process, let's talk.

Being a notary public in the United States barely requires having a pulse. In Latin America, being a notario publico means something entirely different, it means being a legal professional with an even higher level of specialization and training than a regular attorney, essentially the best of the best in the legal field.

In the United States, becoming a notary public can mean being as young as 18 years old and simply being authorized to witness someone sign legal documents and add a stamp. There is no legal training required whatsoever.

Many individuals have exploited this confusion, presenting themselves as a notario publico in the United States when in reality they are only a notary public. Spanish speaking communities in particular are often confused by this and end up relying on them for help with serious immigration matters.

If you've relied on a notary for immigration help and aren't sure where your case stands, head over to our link in bio to schedule your consultation.

Even the most basic cases can lead to serious complications when they are filed incorrectly.

One case that stands out involved someone with a U visa who waited the required three years and became eligible to apply for adjustment of status. They had used an attorney for the U visa itself, but decided to use a paralegal instead for the adjustment of status filing.

The paralegal submitted an application that was incomplete and incorrect. USCIS sent a request for additional documentation asking about the missing and inaccurate information, but by that point, the paralegal had already disappeared. The client had no way to reach them and had no idea how to follow up.

Cases like this show why it matters who handles your filing. Head over to our link in bio to schedule your consultation.

When someone has had an attorney who acted fraudulently, there is a remedy available in court known as ineffective assistance of counsel.

This remedy can be raised with the court or with USCIS to potentially get a case reopened, often giving someone a second opportunity to address issues that may not have been handled properly the first time, especially in cases that have ended up in court.

If a past attorney's mistakes may have impacted your case, it's worth understanding what options exist.

The number one reason someone needs an attorney to file and handle their immigration case is accountability.

Attorneys hold licenses, which means they are required to remain accountable to their clients. They cannot simply disappear. They have to keep copies of everything filed on a client's behalf, and if a mistake happens, they are obligated to make it right. If something goes seriously wrong, the client has someone to go to.

Attorneys are far from perfect, and that includes every attorney out there. Some act fraudulently, and some do not put their client's best interests first. But even in those cases, those attorneys are still held accountable to the law, a law that requires a client's interests to come first.

If you're ready to work with a team that takes accountability seriously, head over to our link in bio to schedule your consultation.

One of the questions we hear most often is this, is it worth pursuing citizenship if I already have my green card?

The answer depends on each individual situation. But what is clear is that citizenship offers protections that residency simply does not, including full protection from deportation, the right to vote, and the ability to sponsor more family members with shorter wait times.

If you have permanent residency and want to understand your options, our team is here to guide you.
