The court ruled that SB 13, the 2021 Texas law which blacklisted companies with climate-conscious investment strategies, is unconstitutional as it violates the First and Fourteenth Amendments. Guerrero & Whittle PLLC is proud to team up with Democracy Forward and Emery Celli Brinckerhoff Abady Ward & Maazel LLP on this important case to protect free speech and to allow Texans to choose more responsible investment options.

A judge ruled Senate Bill 13, passed in 2021, violated the First and Fourteenth Amendments. The law prevented state investments in firms it deemed as boycotting oil and gas companies.

San Miguel Electric Cooperative's plan to turn into a solar and battery plant will leave only 14 coal-fired power plants in the state.

The facts of this case are horrific on their face, and we expect them to get worse as we get to the bottom of what the Army knew, and when it knew it (and what it failed to investigate), regarding one of its soldiers who preyed on young women when he was stationed at Fort Hood. We represent 2 of the victims, but I have no doubt there are more who were too traumatized - and too silenced - to come forward prior to this case.

Rashad Parkinson pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting three underage girls while at Fort Cavazos, Tex. The Army was slow to investigate his crimes, families alleged.

These families are our clients. But it could happen to anyone -- dead livestock, contaminated land and water, all from biosolid fertilizer used nearby which has now damaged their properties and turned their lives upside down. Fighting big business is never easy, but we are proud and ready to stand up for our clients!

May we honor your sacrifices by thinking long and hard before we commit our troops to open-ended conflicts, and by providing meaningful mental health services to all veterans - because not all scars are visible, and not all battlefields are on foreign soil.

Our firm, which proudly represented the Peeler Ranch and McMullen County against San Miguel Electric Cooperative, applauds these new EPA rules which are meant to protect the public from excessive, dangerous pollutants. In fact, G&W founding partner Mary Whittle defended the coal ash rule when it was issued; just another example of how commitment to environmental justice is one of our core principles.
