Let me tell you a little story about real estate. The year is 2020. The world is coming to an end, however the real estate market is booming! Homes are flying off the shelves, and sellers are getting the sun, the moon and the stars. My clients were looking for land outside of town and Goldthwaite provided an excellent opportunity. A gorgeous Spanish home on 90 acres! They bought it all for $672,000. Three years later, it’s the end of 2023, the market is shifting and they decided 90 acres might be too much. While considering life options, they decided to sell off 50 acres. They had added 2 wells however, apart from that, the land was completely undeveloped. We sold the land for $750,000 - they profited JUST ON THE LAND! Fast forward 2 more years, it’s 2026, and today we sold the house and remaining 40 acre for $670,000 - breaking even (again!) on their original investment - in the worst market we’ve seen in years.
