Hi, I'm Tayrin, but most people know me as Ty. I'm a Criminal Defense Attorney serving clients throughout Central Texas, including Travis County, Williamson County, and surrounding communities. As the founder and lead attorney at Cardenas Witt Law, I bring a unique perspective to every case. Before becoming a defense attorney, I spent more than a decade as a prosecutor, giving me firsthand insight

into how criminal cases are built, investigated, and prosecuted. Today, I use that experience to defend individuals facing criminal charges with strategy, determination, and a deep understanding of the justice system. My mission is simple: to provide the highest level of criminal defense with respect, dignity, and clear communication. I proudly represent both citizens and non-citizens, helping them navigate some of the most difficult moments of their lives. At Cardenas Witt Law, we believe no one should face the criminal justice system alone. That's why we guide our clients every step of the way, ensuring they understand their options, their rights, and the strategy behind their defense.

Conocí a un nuevo cliente, escuché su historia por casi tres horas y ahora regreso a Austin con mucho por investigar y una defensa por construir.

Hay historias que te pegan fuerte. Esta fue una de ellas.

Ahora toca trabajar.

When your freedom is on the line, price shouldn’t be the only factor in choosing your attorney.
Families sometimes call after a conviction ready to do whatever it takes to change the outcome. But by then, the options can be far more limited.

Choose your defense attorney carefully when there’s still time to build the strongest case possible.

“Can you fix what happened at trial?”
After a conviction, you can’t simply redo the case. An appeal requires specific legal or procedural grounds to challenge what happened.
That’s why building the right defense from the beginning matters.

What happens when the evidence against you is overwhelming?

A strong defense isn’t always about taking a case to trial. Sometimes it means knowing when to negotiate and fighting to turn a potential 10 year sentence into two years, probation, or another better outcome.

As your criminal defense attorney, my job is to evaluate the evidence, negotiate from a position of strength, explain every option and help you understand the risks before you make a decision.

Your case needs a strategy built around your circumstances.

A misdemeanor and a felony are not just different labels. The potential consequences are drastically different.

In Texas, misdemeanors can carry up to one year in county jail, while felony sentences can range from years to decades in prison depending on the offense.

Attorney Ty Cardenas Wittenstein explains the difference and why understanding the level of your charge matters from the beginning.

If you’re facing criminal charges, don’t wait to start building your defense.

A misdemeanor may be less serious than a felony, but that doesn’t mean you should take it lightly.

In Texas, misdemeanors are divided into three levels: Class A, Class B and Class C. The potential consequences range from financial penalties to county jail time.

Attorney Ty Cardenas Wittenstein explains how each level works and why understanding the classification of your charge matters.

Facing a misdemeanor charge? Know what you’re up against and start protecting your future.

Your defense shouldn’t start when a trial date is set. It should start on day one.

At Cardenas Witt Law, we prepare every case with trial in mind. If the evidence against you is insufficient, we’re prepared to fight for a dismissal or take the case before a jury. If negotiation offers the best path forward, that same preparation strengthens our position.

Preparation. Strategy. And maybe a little bit of magic.

If you’re facing criminal charges in Texas, start building your defense now.
