I know there are so many prayers being offered up for people as we end 2020. I do not have to list the issues as I am sure your mind is flooded with more then you care to think about. I will ask you though to include one other group of people who are facing desperation as Christmas approaches. For those familiar with the ministry God gave me you are probably thinking I am asking for the addict or prisoner. While they need your prayers it is not them I am coveting your prayers for. No there is another group that breaks my heart even more then the addict! It is those who love an addict! Often family and friends at no fault of their own are being held hostage by addiction! Tonight Dads, Moms, children and others are emotionally drained because the one they love continues on their path of heartbreak while their loved ones shake every time the phone rings or they see the addict they love approaching. They try to shield the children from the pain and do not know which way to turn! They cry themselves to sleep or are scared to death as the addict try’s to shift the blame to them! We at Ryan’s Hope have lived with this pain and are here as prayer partners, advocates and resource finders! Please feel free to contact us if we can help! Covid and Confinement have much more in common then just starting with the same letter. Both can take your freedom away. Both can be frightening. Both can be depressing and both may be a death sentence to some! But there are positives and Christians should always be on the look out for the good in all situations
and circumstances. Romans 8:28...
In both of these situations we as Christians should be brought to our knees asking God to give us the hope and comfort to share with others! 2 Corinthians 1:3. These times of desperation gives us the opportunity to reach out and help all who are without Christ as well as reach out to those in the faith and who are hurting. Jesus is always there to help. Sometimes he gives us the privilege of being that help. So which one are you? Sharing or suffering? Maybe both! If we can help you by praying for you or serving you please reach out! Yes we are in this together and together we will walk out of this! May the Lord bless you as you face these times with godly confidence! Chap Brian.

Sense writing this booklet we have sent thousands of copies free of charge to prisons, Jails and individuals around the country. If you or someone you know needs a free copy we are happy to help. Two weeks ago, Doug (who is a student at Ryan’s Hope) was called to share his testimony at Renovation Church. These men who have become ministry family to Ryan’s Hope (A ministry under Together In The Harvest ) share parts of their lives that no one other than Jesus could change! The darkness that most former addicts lived in is a deep dark hole and many of us had barely survived in them for years! Had it not been for the love of God and His outstretched arms many of us would never have made it out alive and now would be in an eternal dark pit! When I retired from the state of Alabama as a State Chaplain I was not sure where I would land but one thing I did know is people of God never retire! Not while there are lost people and we are breathing! After years in the pressure cooker of State Prison driving a church van looked appealing, but after God rescued me from a life of addiction I knew Gods calling on me even though I examined other ministries! The years following I was privileged to serve with Teen Challenge for four years and now serve as the Executive Director of Ryan’s Hope in Orlando. The common thread is these ministries tie together in sharing the hope of Christ with those who are bound and lost! To all my friends who I have worked with over the years I honor you and share your burden! Let me encourage you to stay true to your calling and continue to seek the lost. The only thing you will one day take to Heaven are the lost souls you have planted a seed in while you were here. Don’t Quit and thank you for your special call! A few memories

What are you doing with your inheritance? I am humbled today when looking over my life! At 20 you couldn’t tell me anything! At 30 I started to be impressed at how smart my father was getting! At 40 I began to see that my poor choices were destroying me! At 43 I realized that I knew nothing and if I did not surrender my life to the Lord it was over. I am eternally grateful that the Lord met me in my mess and gave me an inheritance that I could never ever earn or buy! An inheritance that included a godly wife, a purpose, a mission and the strength to walk it out! Because of that Inheritance I now look forward to an eternal life with the One who sacrificed what was most important to Him only to save me! Now at 65 I look back only to know how little I still know! I look back realizing that we are just not all that! I look back to realize I have received an inheritance that should never be squandered! An inheritance that I should be grateful for and desire to share with all the broken people that I encounter! God help me to do this because As I learned many years ago; In me alone I am nothing! If you have received this eternal gift I have but one question; What are you doing with your Inheritance?
