Just concluded a 3-day jury trial at the State Court of Fulton County, Georgia where the jury returned a $2.65 million dollar verdict in favor of our client who was injured in a slip and fall. I tried the case with co-counsel Jenaye Peterson of JM Law. It was a pleasure to get justice for the deserving client.

We are looking for preferably Fulton County residents to participate in a mock jury/focus group for an upcoming civil jury trial. You must be at least 18 years old to participate. The focus group will hold on July 29, 2023 in Marietta, GA and will start at 10:00 A.M. and end at 4:00 P.M.

You must be prepared to spend up to 6 hours. A $100.00 stipend will be paid to each participant at the end of the session. Breakfast and lunch will be served. People who love legal thrillers or are interested in legal related issues are encouraged to apply.

It was pleasure settling this lovely client’s case for six figures in combined settlements from two different policies— the owner and the driver. She came from a TV lawyer who didn’t file lawsuits and who did not even bother to find out whether the driver had additional insurance coverage let alone go after the driver’s insurance company.

Once she retained our services, we settled her case for the policy limits with the vehicle owner’s insurance company and had to file a lawsuit against the driver to get the driver’s insurance to pay.

On Thursday April 14, 2022 Attorney Doherty won a $180,000 jury verdict for our client who was injured in a car wreck with an employee of Dekalb County Watershed Management. Dekalb County refused to take responsibility and we had to try the case before a Dekalb County jury. After presenting evidence to the jury, they awarded $180,000.00 in favor of our client.

Attorney Doherty’s skillful takedown of Dekalb County’s expert witness, a former police officer turned accident reconstructionist, was instrumental in securing the jury verdict. Even though Dekalb County argued that our client suffered only from “soft-tissue” injuries, the jury understood the severity of the wreck and of our client’s injuries and reached a just verdict.

Settled two big cases this week for our clients. One case against Lowe’s settled two days before trial. Our client suffered catastrophic injuries when a big log of wood rolled on him and knocked him down during a deck construction in his home. The second was against a trucking company that was involved in a wreck with our client. It is always a great day when we are able to recover for our clients.
