Columbus, OH NEWS – Gunfire rang out at an apartment complex early Wednesday morning, May 20, 2026, leaving one man dead.

As reported by 10tv.com, “Columbus Division of Police officers were called to an apartment complex the 4000 block of Migration Lane, off Stelzer Road, on a report of a shooting around 4:13 a.m.”

According to the report, “[o]fficers arrived to find a 22-year-old man, identified by police as Samir Mayes, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to Mount Carmel East Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 4:45 a.m.”

The investigation is ongoing.

Pleasant Hill, MO NEWS – Gunfire rang out Monday afternoon, May 25, 2026, claiming the life of one woman.

As reported by KSHB.com, “[j]ust before 4:30 p.m., Pleasant Hill emergency personnel responded to a reported shooting at [a grocery store] located at 2101 N. State Route 7 Highway.”

According to the report, “[u]pon arrival, officers found three people suffering from gunshot wounds. A 45-year-old woman from Johnson County, Missouri, who was a shopper at the grocery store, was pronounced dead at the scene. A 17-year-old male from Pleasant Hill, who worked at the store, was transported to a local hospital.”

KCTV5.com is reporting, “[i]nvestigators identified 45-year-old Amy C**n of Strasburg as the woman shot and killed Monday afternoon…. A 16-year-old boy…was also shot and is in stable condition at a local hospital.”

The investigation is ongoing.
