Kids can be a trip! We completed an adoption today and when we asked the sweet little girl if the judge was like she expected, she told us no, and that she had expected Judge Judy!

Lesser known divorce law tip of the day! Tell your lawyer the TRUTH! The good stuff, the ugly stuff, the things that bring you shame and the things you should brag about it. I know it’s hard. I know divorce makes you vulnerable and having to disclose your own shortcomings is hard. But it is essential to your attorney building the best possible case for you. And - this is really the tip - if you are worried your attorney is judging you for your choices - you have the WRONG attorney. Kick em to the curb and try again. There is no place or need to be judged by your attorney. Your attorney works for YOU! Paying a lot of money for your advocate to make you feel small - don’t do it. Hugs to all. It’s rough out there people.

This week we helped end a marriage that lasted 8 months and we helped end a marriage that lasted 40+ years. Both were hard. The loss of what could have been and the fear (mixed with excitement) of the road ahead is real for both of our clients. It’s a privilege to walk this road with folks. And I’m excited to see what the next chapter brings for both of our strong women.
