One of the questions I get most often from nonprofit leaders and business owners is:

"At what point do we need a lawyer?"

Most organizations don't need a full-time attorney on staff.

What they do need is someone they can call before a situation becomes a problem.

Whether it's reviewing a contract, navigating an employment issue, advising a board, updating policies, or helping assess risk, having trusted legal counsel involved early can save significant time, money, and frustration later.

A big part of our work is helping organizations make informed decisions before they find themselves in a crisis.

Sometimes the best legal work is the problem that never happens.

Still reflecting on a great weekend at the MBK | MSK Fellowship Summit in New York.

I enjoyed the opportunity to serve as a panelist, reconnect with some familiar faces, meet some new ones, and have a few conversations that will stay with me for a while.

It's a good reminder that relationships, community, and showing up consistently still matter.
