Most people don’t learn how workers’ compensation works until they’re already hurt, overwhelmed and trying to figure out what to do next.

That’s why we wish every Georgia worker knew these five things before they ever needed us.

Report your injury promptly. Document what happened. Understand the rules surrounding your medical care. Pay attention to what you say and sign. And remember that you don’t have to navigate the process without help.

You may never need this information, and we hope you don’t. But if you do, knowing what to do from the beginning can make a difference.
