I appreciate everyone’s patience with requesting and picking up client files from the law office. If you made a request prior to October 30, 2022, I assure you it is being processed. I had a family health emergency over the last month so the process has been slowed some.

I know previous notices stated Novemeber 30, 2022 as file destruction date, but given these unexpected circumstances this has been extended.

Even though the Law Office is officially closed as of last Friday, we are still in the process of getting everyone their requested files. If you have not yet received a call scheduling your pick up, please do not worry. We will be working on those throughout the end of November.

I have the BEST clients! Have you ever heard the saying “It takes a village.” Yesterday my afternoon was crazy so my afternoon appointment picked up my children at school on their way here, and brought me a frosty Cinco De Mayo treat to boot!

I love being a small town lawyer in Atlanta, Texas! Serving clients in this community is a blessing to me. Thank you for the opportunity!

Here we go again. Lafferty Law Office will not call you asking for your social security number, credit card information, or anything like this. Please report any suspicious calls to local law enforcement or the Federal Trade Commission.

These tips can help you hang up on a phone scammer and hold onto your money.

Under our County Judge’s stay home order and our Governor’s latest order, the practice of law is still considered an essential service. Therefore, we remain open to provide those essential services to you through modified procedures. We have safety procedures in place to honor the spirit of these orders and to help keep everyone safe.
The front door remains locked, but we are still working and scheduling meetings by phone and essential/necessary signings on a case by case basis in accordance with guidelines provided to me by the Texas Courts Office of Administration.
If you have a pending matter or real estate closing know it is moving forward under these modified procedures!

Lafferty Law Office is here to serve your legal needs through this COVID19 event. Amanda and staff will remain available via phone and email, and we will continue to work on all pending matters to the best of our ability, however, Lafferty Law office will be closed to the public for the week of March 16, 2020 through March 20, 2020. I will post an update on March 20, 2020 in regards to the following week.
If you have an appointment or real estate closing scheduled during this week you will be receiving a direct phone call with details of how we plan to accomplish your work this week.
REMEMBER, even though the door is locked, the work is still getting done! Give us a call, shoot us an email, remember we have a drop box by the front door for you to leave us documents. We plan to continue to serve you without significant interruption.
I appreciate all of my client’s understanding of this decision. I am following the lead of our Texas governor, the Texas Supreme Court, and our local Cass County courts and school districts. The courts have suspended all nonessential court hearings, and the schools have suspended classes at this time because we are being advised that social distancing will help slow the spread of COVID19. If we can slow the spread, then our healthcare system will be more successful in meeting the needs of a slower influx of patients. In addition, as I am sure many of you do, I have immediate family that suffers from respiratory and autoimmune disorders, and I must lessen the risk of bringing this illness into my home. Furthermore, I want to do my part as a responsible citizen to aide our leaders in getting ahead of this sickness before it cripples our healthcare system, society, and economy any further. I sincerely hope and pray we are overreacting, and hopefully in the future we can joke about this time, but until then I am playing my part to help .
