PWH partner Mike Walker was interviewed and quoted in important case we handled in North Georgia involving the death of a young man suffering from mental illness who was required to flush prescription medications down the toilet by an illegally operated drug rehab program. The case set important precedent requiring drug-rehabs to provide minimum safeguards to protect their patients. The rehab (which had at least one more death despite refusing to adopt minimum standards) chose to close rather than allow additional scrutiny.

The Court of Appeals of Georgia issued an important decision this week for victims of s*x trafficking, and we were honored that the Daily Report asked our team to comment on the decision.

In general this opens the door to allow clients to bring their claims in their backyards, in their hometowns, in the jurisdictions where it happened to them, said plaintiff-appellee attorney Pat McDonough.
