Can you sue big tech when a product harms your child?
For years the answer was no. In 2026 that changed. A jury awarded $6 million, including $3 million in punitive damages, against Meta and YouTube over social media addiction.
Internal documents in that case showed both companies knew their platforms were addictive. Rather than build safeguards, they profited from it.
