Today’s my 10 year anniversary as an attorney!!!!!! What a blessing but more than anything, what a journey!!!!

This is just a reminder that delay ≠ denial. God hears our prayers, and in due time, He will answer!

After all the broke days, sitting for the bar 3 times, being told I failed—only to discover my earlier score was miscalculated... this moment made everything worth it.

Having the Honorable Judge Kimberly Edmond Adams, a fellow Howard alum, conduct a private swearing-in ceremony.with just my friends and family around was so special.

10-05-2016 goes down as one of the best days of my life. I worked sooooo hard to make it to that day!!!

This entire journey has been nothing but twists and turns.

If you knew me growing up, you know I wanted to be a dentist. An oral maxillofacial surgeon, to be exact, ever since middle school. I spent so much time in science camps that I was able to skip my sophomore science classes in high school. I went on to major in biology in college.. I was locked in for real… until I shadowed a dentist and realized in the office that I couldn’t stand the sight of blood lol. Fainted actually. Changed my entire life.

I SWITCHED MY MAJOR during the middle of my junior year. As I was panicking to figure out my next steps, a Google search lead me to law school. As I was searching for careers in law/policy and separately careers in fashion, I discovered fashion law by accident by failing to delete the word fashion.

Discovered Howard had a fashion law program and that was a full circle moment for me because I always wanted to go to Howard AND live in DC. Ever since I was a little girl.
The rest was history (kinda).

Once I decided to change my major I realized there was no pre law society on Spelman’s campus. All the resources were on Morehouse’s campus. And of course, that simply didn’t work for me, so I rallied up some of my Spelman sisters to charter the Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity on our own campus so we could have our own resources on campus.

I carried that same disruptive energy to Howard, working with a friend to establish the Fashion Law Society on Howard Law’s campus.

I’m so grateful for a season that stretched me as a CEO, not just as someone who shows up for others.

It was a privilege to be hand-chosen from thousands of applicants and to graduate alongside 300 incredible women as part of Cohort 8 of Black in Business × One Million Black Women.

Thank you to my business advisor, Simeko Hartley, and my growth group sisters (Shotout to GG 48) who encouraged me, held me accountable, and pushed me to show up as the best version of myself.

Deep gratitude to Goldman Sachs, JumpStart, Asahi Pompey, and all others who were involved in creating this opportunity — and to everyone who cheered me on, listened to me wrestle with the vision, offered feedback, and gave me grace as I put myself and my business first this season.

You are so loved. 🖤

Hey beautiful people! It’s been a while since I’ve checked in here, but I miss y’all, deeply!

I took a break from the algorithm to really check in with myself and make sure that I was showing up fully in real life. To explore a bit. Spend time with friends and family. And to figure out new ways to keep myself enthusiastic and passionate about the work that I do, especially given all the things happening in the world right now.

So, here’s a light post of me just … living life, joyfully. Part of my break has called me to remember that I am human, and not a machine — and you deserve to see this side of me too. July, please be good to me 🫶🏾

Your trademark should probably not be in your personal name.

Here’s why:
When you file as an individual, you become the legal owner of the mark—not your business. That might not seem like a big deal now, but later it can create serious issues, like:
• Personal liability if someone sues
• Complications if you ever want to sell your business
• Headaches when you bring on a partner or investor
• Probate issues if something happens to you

Instead, consider filling your trademark under your business entity—your LLC or corporation.
That way, the brand stays protected, transferable, and legally aligned with your operations.

If you filed it personally don’t panic—this is fixable.
A simple assignment agreement can be used to transfer ownership properly. I can help.
