🔔Verdict Alert🔔

$10,000,000 verdict today.

Will Ortiz obtained his first eight-figure verdict as lead counsel in a case involving the sexual assault of a child by the former mayor of Kennesaw — a matter that drew national attention at the time. Gabe Knisely was invaluable in helping prepare for trial.

At its core, this case was about accountability and securing justice for a child who deserved to be heard.

Will handled the case from start to finish, but he and Gabe’s collaboration and commitment helped bring the case to a successful conclusion.

They are grateful for the trust placed in them and proud to have stood up for a child in pursuit of justice.

Death by su***de is a devastating loss that leaves families searching for answers. When the care meant to protect someone falls short, the consequences can be heartbreaking.

Su***de cases are challenging and complex, but Natalie Woodward and Will Ortiz were proud to represent a family that suffered the loss of a young loved one to su***de, and obtained a $7,000,000 partial resolution in psychiatric malpractice case. While no resolution can undo the pain of losing a loved one to su***de, accountability helps create change and ensures that voices are heard.

This case is a reminder: mental health care must always be taken seriously.

Lives depend on it.

Will Ortiz recently settled a complex personal injury claim for policy limits on behalf of a deserving client.

Initially, the insurance company maintained for months that only the minimum required coverage ($25,000) was available on a personal vehicle involved in the incident. However, through careful investigation, Will discovered that the vehicle was also insured under a commercial general liability policy, significantly increasing the coverage available. This made it possible to achieve a full policy limits settlement and ensure the client received the compensation they deserved.

It’s another reminder that persistence and thoroughness can make all the difference.

Natalie Woodward and Will Ortiz, in collaboration with Michael Eshman of Eshman Begnaud, LLC, have secured a $5,000,000 pre-suit settlement in a wrongful death case involving a patient who lost their life while seeking treatment for substance use disorder.

Addiction is a disease—not a moral failing. Those courageously seeking treatment deserve the highest standard of care, compassion, and safety. When rehabilitation facilities fail to provide proper supervision and medical attention, the consequences can be devastating. This settlement not only brings justice to a grieving family but also sends a clear message: treatment facilities must be held accountable for the vulnerable individuals they serve.

People in recovery are fighting the battle of their lives and deserve our support, not stigma.

👏 Victory for Justice! 👏

Our client was seriously injured on the job, but today, they have the justice they deserve. Thanks to the relentless advocacy of Michael Warshauer, Trent Shuping, and Will Ortiz, we secured a $1.5 million settlement to help them move forward.

We always strive to find a way for injured workers to recover outside of the workers’ compensation system. If you, or your clients, need help, we’re just a call away.
