Now that dry January has passed, it is time to think about other resolutions for the new year. Do you have your estate planning documents in place? A will is an important document that instructs others as to what happens to your estate (e.g. your house, your money, your personal belongings, sometimes your children) after you are deceased. A General Power of Attorney is a document that appoints someone to take care of your financial interests while you are alive, but unable to manage them on your own. The Health Care Directive allows you to appoint an agent to act on your behalf for major medical decisions when you are unable to do so. It is never too early to consider these things folks.
