Our hearts go out to the Apalachee High School and Barrow County community as they gather on September 5th in remembrance of the four lives lost in last year’s tragic shooting , two beloved students and two dedicated teachers. A vigil is being held to honor their memory, and all are welcome to attend.

We stand with you in solidarity and grief, and we encourage anyone who needs support or connection to join this vigil.

We hope this gathering provides a moment of healing, unity, and collective care. We note that the media is kindly asked not to attend this event.

Navigating a personal injury case can feel overwhelming — especially if you're coping with trauma. At Deitch + Rogers, we believe in making every part of the legal process as transparent and survivor-centered as possible.
Here’s the difference between two key outcomes in a civil case:

🤝 Settlement
A settlement is a private agreement where the parties involved decide to resolve the case without going to trial. This usually involves the defendant (or their insurance company) offering compensation, which the survivor accepts. It can often mean faster closure and less emotional toll.

🏛️ Verdict
A verdict is the result of a trial. A judge or jury hears all the evidence and decides who is responsible — and what compensation, if any, should be awarded. While it can provide public accountability, it typically takes longer and can be more emotionally demanding.

🚨 SB68 is now law in Georgia — and it’s a devastating step backward for survivors of violence.

This new law protects big insurance companies and negligent businesses, while stripping survivors of their right to be heard in civil court. It raises the legal bar so high, many who’ve experienced unimaginable harm — including r**e, abuse, and even murder — will be denied the right to a trial.

📉 Only a narrow exception was made for survivors of s*x trafficking. But if a child is r**ed, tortured, or killed outside that narrow definition — they are left with no legal path forward.

💔 The message is clear: not all survivors matter equally under SB68.
At Deitch + Rogers, we believe every survivor deserves access to justice. We will continue to speak out, stand up, and fight back — until all voices are heard and no one is left behind.
