Hi everyone, gather ‘round to meet Tayum, the 9-month-old foster pup who’s about to steal your heart. Initially, she’s as skittish as a cat in a bathtub, but trust me, she’s a total softie once you get to know her. This little goofball loves toys, zooming around the backyard like she’s in a canine Grand Prix, and playing with other dogs who can keep up with her tumbling antics - just make sure they’re roughly her size and have a confident vibe. With kids, she’s a total sweetheart, but she’s still learning that not everyone appreciates a good game of ‘nip and grab’ with their mouth and teeth. Given her shelter history and recent 2-month stint out, going back to the shelter would be a major bummer for this pup. So, here’s the deal - Tayum’s a 9-month-old, 26-pound bundle of joy who’s fully vaccinated, spayed, and ready for her forever home by Saturday. Let’s find her a new BFF before it’s too late.

After 95 days at the PAWS Shelter, Waylon finally found a home thanks to a boy named Cai who treated adoption like a once in a lifetime moment. Cai showed up dressed in a smart suit because the day mattered to him, and that quiet detail said everything about the kind of owner he wanted to be. Shelter staff shared that Cai took the process seriously, asked questions, learned about responsibility, and showed a level of maturity far beyond his years. The moment reminded everyone watching that adoption is not just about bringing a dog home, but about choosing commitment, respect, and love from the very first step.

Happy Thanksgiving! As we dive into the holiday and shopping season, I know many people are thinking of bringing a new furry friend into their home. With that being said, I wanted to introduce you to the most eligible bachelor in town, Hopper. Hopper is my current shelter sweetheart. It’s crazy to believe he’s spent six months waiting for his forever home. He’s a total gentleman on a leash and knows his basic commands. He loves people and is eager to please. Of course, even the most eligible bachelors have their quirks. Hopper can get a little possessive over toys and is picky about his dog friends. But trust me, he’s worked hard to be his best self and I know he’ll make some family very happy.

My heart is overflowing with joy today. Let me share with you the incredible story of these three little pugs. I was scrolling online, and stumbled upon three one-year-old pugs being sold. They were marketed as one female and two males - perfect for someone looking to become a breeder. I started speaking with the person who had the dogs and somehow convinced him to sell me all three for the price of one. I couldn’t bear to think about what kind of situation these dogs would end up in and what kind of disaster of unethical breeding this could lead to. I met him in a Walmart parking lot, half expecting to be kidnapped. Immediately, stepped in and poured their love and resources into these guys. The dogs appeared healthy at a quick glance, but in the last month, we learned the female had severe ear infections and a self-inflicted wound on her leg. One of the males had ulcers in both eyes and required surgery to remove a concerning mass - which became more complex than we expected. The last one had a much deeper ulcer in his eye and is still receiving treatments. All three pups had worms and blood in their stool. That’s the reality of backyard breeding and using animals for profit. This is also proof that you can get your dream dog from a rescue. I am so tremendously grateful for Furkids leading with concern and resources. Thank you to (highly recommend for anyone looking for a vet) for completing Enzo’s surgery. I am thrilled for these guys to start their new lives with their forever families. I named the dogs after The Housemaid books: Millie - female fawn, Enzo - male fawn, Niko - male black.

Check out the latest occupant of my guest room - MooMoo, which is also the ridiculously nickname of my childhood dog.

Moo is a teeny-tiny guy who will basically live in your pocket, but somehow still hog all the space in your heart. He is potty-trained and crate-trained, because who doesn’t love a dog that comes with his own set of rules? He loves to snuggle and be your new shadow. Moo may be small, but he’s got a Napoleon complex and isn’t afraid of dogs way bigger than him. Just don’t expect him to win any awards for bravery around men - he’s terrified. So, if you’re looking for a calm and peaceful life with a dog that’s low-maintenance but high-cuddle, Moo might be your guy. Reach out if you’re interested in learning more about this little pup!

🐾 New Project Alert! 🐾
I’m starting something special to spotlight my furry friends — meet the pups I walked this week!

🐶 Demi:
I have a soft spot for wiry-haired dogs — they always remind me of a PBS special! Demi is pure sweetness and walks like a dream. After a little sunbathing session, she was more than happy to snuggle up. She’s not as old as she looks, but she’s ready to spend the next half of her life relaxing in an adult-only home filled with love.

🐾 Remy:
This gentle giant stole my heart. Remy was calm and polite in his kennel but a bit shy on our walk at first. Once we played a few rounds of hide-and-seek, he totally opened up — and wow, what a sweetheart. He loves people (even kids… which is more than I can say for some of my friends 😆).

🌹 Rose:
Talk about s***k! Rose is just 10 months old and growing up in the shelter — which breaks my heart. She’s full of energy, walks beautifully on leash, and gets along with everyone she meets (except cats… she’s made her opinion clear on that one 🐱🚫).

Charger is in need of foster. If you can’t foster him, could you share his story with your friends and family in hopes of getting him adopted?

This 9 year old senior boy lived a life of pure neglect, filth, and no loving family to care for him. He sat outside in a pen covered in trash, when they fed him, they left the dirty trays. No clean water, no soft blankets, no toys - just filth. Finally an owner surrender and Charger was freed from his horrific life and became a Furkid. He has come leaps and bounds but still is a bit unsure and I can’t blame him. He is the type of dog that doesn’t do well in a shelter environment. When he came in, he was so grateful, and happy to finally be free and safe.
The longer he sat in the shelter, the more he devolved and a month ago, he would barely come to the front of the kennel to see the volunteers that loved him. He was really shutting down, not eating, totally depressed.
Charger is a different dog now and he deserves time, patience, love and safety especially after everything he’s been through. I make a promise to every shelter dog, “when I get you out of the shelter, I will do all I can to keep you out”. I have to place him by Thursday and with so many adoption events happening between now and the end of the year, I know he’ll be adopted.
He’s good with other mellow dogs, no cats please, he’s good with older kids (littles can frighten a dog like Charger). He’s 37 lbs, house trained, crate trained and pretty good walking on leash. He LOVES being in a fenced in yard. I’d like stability vs bouncing him around because he’s still a tad anxious so consistency is best. Again, if you can foster him, please reach out.
