If you find out you have a warrant, do not ignore it.

Yes, you should turn yourself in. But do it the right way: with an attorney.

When you have legal counsel with you during the process, your rights are protected. Your attorney can account for the interview and pre-booking process, and that documentation matters later in court.

Ignoring a warrant does not make it go away. It makes everything harder.

I said yes to everything. Every case, every client, and every area of law that completely drained my energy.

It didn't make me a better lawyer. It made me a tired one.

A client calls with a case outside your lane and you think, "I can figure it out." But I quickly realized my clients deserve an attorney dedicated to their specific area of law, not someone just figuring it out. If I don't specialize in it, I won't take it.

Here's what I've learned...

Find 2-3 areas you enjoy and are good at. Build from there. Let the rest go to attorneys who live in those spaces.

You will not lose business. You will build a practice you can sustain.
