Andrew Kraft, our River Programs Coordinator, had the opportunity to meet with 5th grade students from WBWC (We Build We Create), a FIRST LEGO League team, who are tackling a big problem: trash in our waterways and its impact on our oceans, rivers, wildlife, and ecosystems.
The team is currently in the IDENTIFY stage of their project, learning as much as they can about plastic pollution before they move on to DESIGN and CREATE a solution.
It was great for Andrew to share a little about the Clean Georgia Rivers program and hear their questions and ideas. We love seeing young people approach environmental challenges with curiosity, creativity, and a desire to make a difference.
Who knows? The next big idea for keeping plastic out of our waterways might come from a 5th grade robotics team!
Keep asking questions, WBWC — We can’t wait to see what you CREATE!
