Last night, we closed out the year celebrating the accomplishments of our amazing members at our end-of-year banquet✨🎉!

We were thrilled to honor an incredible alumna, Attorney Veronica L. Richardson (JD ‘06), as this year’s Nyota Tucker Award Recipient!

Also, Alexis Hardy (3L) received the Larry E. Blount Award and Adoris Gibbs(3L) received the Excellence in Community Service Award!! 🏆

The night was filled with celebration, love, and encouragement. We can’t wait to continue the great work of BLSA in the 2026-2027 academic year!

We, along with the Immigration Law Society, partnered with to host a great panel discussion, Borders, Ballots, and Belonging: Policy at the Intersection of Race and Immigration.

This event explored how immigration policy intersects with race, identity, and access to citizenship, centering the experiences of Black immigrants, Afro-Caribbean families, and first-generation Americans.
