The Department of Homeland Security has announced the designation of Afghanistan for Temporary Protected Status for 18 months. Any Afghan who has been here since 3/15/22 has been granted Temporary Protected Status. The Department of Homeland Security has announced the designation of Ukraine for Temporary Protected Status for 18 months. Any Ukrainian who has been here since 3/1/22 has been granted Temporary Protected Status. The Department of State will begin accepting online registrations for the 2023 Diversity Visa Program from now until Tuesday, November 9, 2021.

Applicants who are selected in the program (selectees) must meet simple but strict eligibility requirements to qualify for a diversity visa.
