The new Nell Bell chair is nearing completion, replacing the Little Nell and Bell Mountain lifts with one high speed quad that will get skiers to the top of Bell Mountain in about 8 minutes.⁠

That kind of access is a big change.⁠
⁠
For years, my routine has been to start on the Silver Queen, get several laps in on Pandora’s, then head to the front side and find untouched snow around Bell Mountain. With Nell Bell moving skiers up the mountain this quickly, I don’t expect that snow to stay untouched for long. Time to rethink the game plan.⁠

I had the honor of seeing Rush last night at the Pepsi Center in Denver. My first show was in 1978, my mom took me to see them play during the Hemispheres tour at 10 years old. 25 shows later this might have been the best show I have ever seen. β€’ A N i K A ~ N i L L E S β€’ absolutely killed it. They opened with Xanadu, played the entire side one of 2112 and ended with Working Man. Definitely the best set list I have heard.

✈️ Everyone's talking about Aspen's 2027 airport closure. Here's what I'm actually seeing.⁠

In the last two weeks alone, I've closed just over $1 million in leases, with 90% of that business for next summer, during the exact window everyone is worried about.⁠
⁠
That doesn't mean the airport closure won't have an impact. It will. But I think we're looking at two very different markets.⁠
⁠
For someone coming to Aspen for a long weekend, the added travel through Eagle, Grand Junction, or Denver may be enough to reconsider the trip. But when you're settling in for six weeks, eight weeks, or the entire summer, a little extra travel on either end becomes a much smaller part of the equation.⁠
⁠
In fact, I'm already seeing clients choose longer stays rather than making several trips back and forth.⁠
⁠
Aspen will look a little different next summer, but the heart of the season isn't changing. Food & W**e, Aspen Ideas Festival, and the Aspen Music Tent are moving forward, along with the outdoor recreation and cultural experiences that make summer in the valley so special. Yes, some businesses and properties will close for renovations, but there will still be plenty happening for those who choose to spend the summer here.⁠
⁠
Getting here may take a little more planning, but from what I'm seeing, that isn't stopping people from coming. If anything, summer 2027 could offer a different Aspen experience: less traffic, less noise, and more reason to settle in and stay awhile.⁠
