Just a friendly reminder that when you go to purchase any vehicle from a private seller, the seller is required to have your name and address and their signature notarized on the title before the transaction is complete. Without this the buyer risks purchasing a vehicle they will be unable to register or get plates for. Occasionally, you can use a bill of sale to attempt to get to duplicate title. But other than that, if you hand someone money and they hand you an unnotarized title you now have a vehicle that you cannot legally drive. Mobile notaries like myself offer services to come out during the transaction and provide a smooth legal sale. Please don't make the mistake so many others have.
