My recent 22+ mile bike ride from Four Mile Run in Arl, to Haines Point, around the Point and back. A beautiful day, lovely friends, and a challenge. Not as easy at it was about 20 or 30 yrs ago. I thank God to make it to my 70’s and still feel really good! A warm welcome to others who want to join us! 😎🤗

What a wonderful privilege to attend the Celebration of our rebuilt Fire Station 8 in Halls Hill High View Park. As a longtime resident from childhood down to this date,I have witnessed much history & development in our tight knit community. It is truly amazing to live through the changes, and hear the actual experiences from the surviving firemen and Fire Chiefs of the Past. Many current family members and surviving members are here today. A grand day in history! I’m also with Margarite Reed, daughter of Hartman Reed, former Fire Chief, present speaker today, whose Fire Chief uniform is here in the Fire House Museum. If you are in or near North Arlington, off N Glebe Rd, and Langston Blvd, treat yourself to a visit.

Life can certainly bring you surprises. Some good, some not so good. So what do you do? If it’s breast cancer, don’t panic. Pray for wisdom to make the best choices for you. It’s not the end of the world. Get proper testing. Research Drs, foods, etc. Talk to other survivors. Gather all the info you can, and make your decision as to how and what you will do. Until I was faced with dealing with my own situation, I had no idea of how many women & men face breast cancer today. There are so many cancer centers, organizations & hospitals that deliver solutions. I received stellar care from my Dr at Medstar GTU Hosp. The experience was at it’s best from the time I was registered until I was discharged the next day.
Thanks to each and everyone for your prayers, calls, texts, flowers, and much more.
We never know how much love is out there until we need help. Not sure what can take the place of mammograms, just get tested yearly at least to be alerted as early as possible.
With early detection and surgery, I have been declared Cancer Free, with no radiation, nor chemo needed.
Thanks again to all and to our God Jehovah.
