Lately, I find myself craving simpler times… the kind that had us sittin’ outside for hours without thinking about what needs to done, errands, housework, phone calls, deadlines - you get the picture.

One of my favorite ways to re-discover that feeling is to wander.
..down an old country road, up a mountain, along a shoreline, picking flowers, farmers markets, jumping in the pool, eating my favorite Southern BBQ, some real good sweet tea AND, of course, always - catching - sunsets.

I think. It’s about restoration, friends.

Simple joys.

Emptying some stuff out of our brains.

And, whatever that looks like for you is what I wish y’all for this long weekend.

Ordinarily, I wouldn’t share a favorite bar because truth be told, I’m usually home before the porch lights come on BUT when friends invite you for a glass of wine, you gotta go! Especially when it’s a new place in downtown Cary. ☺️

Naturally, I have to share with y’all… The old Cotton House place has been reinvented in this gorgeous Gatsby-era vibe, and it’s a lovely spot for people watching and meeting up with friends, family, or your s/o. 🍷

Realtor life gets hectic, friends…😅 Sometimes, even the most cool-under-pressure among us get caught up and it looks like this: leaving your water at home, running on empty (literally) No snacks, no time, rushing out the door while Ellie gives me those “please don’t leave me” eyes.

Soooo lucky to live in a city where I can find quick, healthy choices all over the place to keep me going.

Can we talk about having a village? Aunties, grandmamas, and girlfriends who show up and love on our babies right alongside us — y'all are everything.

Happy Mother's Day weekend, friends! 💐

If you're looking for a fun day trip idea, let me put Greensboro on your radar. Our Piedmont neighbors are only about an hour away and often overlooked.

We started the day by visiting the Greensboro Science Center - I was impressed. The zoo has a sensory zone that's wonderful for anyone really, and the cafe is good and affordable.

We stocked up on the freshest finds at the Piedmont Farmers Market (which is amazing, btw), and wrapped it all up with a delicious meal at Angelina Cafe.

Now, Angelina Cafe might look like an old-school diner from the outside, but trust me on this one — the food and service were fantastic. Don't let the exterior fool you!

Oh! If you still have energy at this point the thrill of the hunt is alive and well in this region. Plenty of antique and thrift stores worth the stop.

There's honestly so much more than this to enjoy in Greensboro that I'll be breaking it down into a couple of posts. But if you want more details on this particular day trip, drop me a comment below. 👇🏻

Friends, it’s NC Wine Month! That means an opportunity to plan some weekend getaways around the state’s wine trails.

Even if wine isn't your thing, the drive alone is worth it — especially the mountain trails + we're having perfect road trip weather, too. (It’s more than wine; think cider, mead and more)

The great thing about living in central NC is that you’re right in the middle of all the best NC has to offer. There are great restaurants, shops and nature trails waiting to be discovered.

My favorite is this blueberry wine from Linville Falls Winery. 🫐😋

A trip to that area makes for a whole weekend: a hike/picnic up Grandfather mountain, meals and shopping in Banner Elk and Blowing Rock, a walk to Linville Falls and a little scenic drive up the parkway. It’s about 2.5 hours or so away from Cary so not a bad drive at all.
