Beginning on Monday, August 31, 2020, Maryland’s circuit courts and the District Court of Maryland will resume statewide non-jury trials and contested hearings in civil, family, and juvenile cases.
Safety precautions to help protect the well-being of all court visitors, judges, and employees during the COVID-19 pandemic are in place. Anyone entering a courthouse, including employees must comply as follows:
• They are required to wear a mask or face covering;
• Must submit to a written or verbal questionnaire regarding any COVID-19 related symptoms; and
• Submit to a contactless thermometer temperature check.

Consumer Financial Protection Bureau announces settlement with TD Bank for illegal overdraft practices --
The Bureau specifically found that TD Bank charged consumers overdraft fees for ATM and one-time debit card transactions without obtaining their affirmative consent in violation of EFTA and Regulation E, both after new customers opened checking accounts at TD Bank branches and after new customers opened checking accounts at events held outside of Bank branches.

CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST CHIPOTLE— “On Tuesday, the complaint said, county resident Bridget McMahon went to the Chipotle at 4960 William Flynn Highway in Hampton. Her bill was $15.51, and she paid with a $20 bill.
In change, the complaint said, McMahon received just $4, even though her receipt said she received $4.49.”

2. Understand any rules your bank or credit union has about mobile check deposit.
3. Follow the directions in the mobile app to deposit the check.
4. Hold onto the check for several days after deposit until you are sure it has posted to your account meaning that it is no longer pending and any holds your institution has placed have expired.
5. Destroy the check once it’s cleared by shredding it or tearing or cutting it up.
