We are so cooked it isn’t funny.
Lilian Schmidt, a 33-year-old mom living in Switzerland, is proudly using ChatGPT to “co-parent” her daughter. In an interview with SWNS, Schmidt says ChatGPT has helped her and her partner “carry the mental load” of raising a toddler.
Schmidt, who is outspoken about her ADHD on TikTok, doesn’t let ChatGPT “make” decisions for her daughter, but instead relies on it for help around the house, including meal prepping, writing bedtime stories and making grocery lists.
Schmidt and her partner both have demanding full-time jobs, so for them, ChatGPT has been a huge help in coming up with ideas to keep their toddler busy. Along those lines, her personalized ChatGPT has been tasked with mundane and boring tasks like “planning birthday presents,” making packing lists for holidays and even “assuming [sic] the role of a toddler therapist” for those times when her daughter is tough to manage.
Schmidt knows her parenting style isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach, which is why she started a TikTok where she helps other moms find a ChatGPT co-parent that’s right for them.
I’ll concede that I don’t know the first thing about parenting or ChatGPT, but if you have time to run a social media page on top of your full-time job as a brand strategist, you probably have time to pick out your daughter’s birthday present, too.
