Today stop & think of farmers. It is National Farmers Day. Farmers feed the world, often working hours others do not want to. Farming is a dangerous occupation, the income of very fluctuating, and the cost of inputs compared to the return on sale of product is among the most narrow gaps in all of economics.

Many people pass up carrying on the family farm simply because of the time & money commitments, and that’s ok; that’s their choice.

But to the few who carry on a love for the land & the feeling of an honest days work, you will forever be admired whether your operation is small or large. Keep going.

Negotiated this one during a Friday night football game and got everything signed Saturday morning before the seller went golfing.

Full price offer with reasonable concessions provided to the buyer to assist with closing costs.

All calculated out the seller’s financial goals will have been met when we close, and the buyer will have a house that fits their needs in the town where they wanted to live; another win-win.

Even in a tough market it is possible to make a fair deal happen between buyers & sellers, all it takes is a little extra work & honest transparency.

Two accomplishments I am most proud of; graduating from Iowa State University and completing the Fire Science Academy at Des Moines Area Community College.

Each took a fair amount of time, pushed me mentally (and physically), and challenged my potential. In the end, I know each helped me become a better man personally & professionally.

This weekend I am proud to show off what I earned from each; a fancy piece of paper and a unique challenge coin which honors the 343 firefighters who lost their lives 25 years ago. 🇺🇸
