Thus far in 2020, my clients’ cases have settled for several Million dollars, including: $3.6 Million in a Product Liability Case on an Industrial Machine, $2.5 Million on a car crash, plus other 5 and 6 figure settlements for wreck injuries, abuse of an intellectually disadvantaged child and abuse and death of a prisoner. As one of only 21 Board Certified Civil Trial Advocates recognized by the SC Supreme Court, I regret I cannot accept every case. I do accept cases of catastrophic injury or death caused by Safety Rule breakers, and I handle each case. After 44 years of practice, I can help refer cases I cannot accept to lawyers, in my experience, who are good. Initial consultations, now done remotely, are still free.

Yesterday, I concluded a partial settlement of $500,000 after my clients were rear-ended, while in a golf cart on a neighborhood street in Myrtle Beach. My clients were told there was only $50,000 liability coverage. Most of the insurance coverage discovered on the case is still pending further results. As one of only 21 Certified Civil Trial Advocates in SC, I have had over 43 years of success in cases of serious injury or death.

Should we treat our mentally challenged like we treat criminals? Is use of force on a disadvantaged child or adult approved where less aggressive methods are proved to have better results? The rules say no, but I have cases where 19th Century methods have still been used. Sad!

Jury votes in favor of Children's Care in prone restraint lawsuit

A children's hospital and school accused by a Sioux Falls family of improperly restraining an autistic student was found not to have been negligent in its care and did not cause the student lasting emotional distress, a jury ruled Friday.
The jury ruled in favor of Children's Care Hospital and School Friday afternoon after a four-hour long deliberation over 25,000 documents and three weeks' worth of testimony about the facility's use of prone restraints on a full-time resident in 2010. The jury began deliberation around 12:30 p.m.
