The Army Corps of Engineers announcement yesterday sent a lot of people into a panic about lake levels for Lake Hartwell. However, we like to fight panic with facts and data. And it might not be what you initially thought 🫣 (It wasn’t for us either.) So let’s get into it.

Bottom line. Lake Hartwell is not going to be intentionally lowered any more. We here in Upstate South Carolina are currently in a severe drought, and lake levels as they sit today are actually about 5 feet *lower* than the new Army Corps of Engineers operating target of 656 feet.
