The Croft Law Office The Croft Law Office has closed. Our founder Chancy Croft helped write much of our current workers’ compensation law as a State Senator in the 1970s.

The attorneys and paralegals at the Croft Law Office have over 120 years of total experience helping Alaskans injured at work. He has represented Alaskans injured at work since 1978. His son, Eric Croft, is proud to work with his father and continue the commitment to get injured workers every cent they are entitled to under the law. Over his long career, Chancy h

as argued and won some of the most important cases in Alaska on the rights of injured workers. He has represented injured workers in over 200 hearings before the Alaska Workers’ Compensation Board. Chancy has argued 55 cases before the Alaska Supreme Court. Eric joined the firm in 2010 after a career in the State Legislature. He has argued over 20 cases before the Board, won a number of cases before the Appeals Commission, and has a perfect record representing injured workers before the Alaska Supreme Court. James Croft represents the third generation of Crofts helping injured workers in Alaska. He is currently a law student at Lewis and Clark Law School. He assists Chancy and Eric with legal research and writing. Patty, Jami and Brenda provide excellent paralegal support on our cases.

On Friday March 6, 2020, Jennifer Fletcher won her summary judgment motion before Judge Holland. The Croft Law Office is proud to be local counsel in this case. The real credit goes to Lambda Legal, Tara Borelli and Peter Renn, who briefed and argued the case, and Jennifer for having the courage to fight for her rights. We primarily represent injured workers, so this was a different case for us, but we had such a great experience working with Lambda Legal on the Harris case in 2014 that we wanted to get the band back together.
In the end, Judge Holland reduced a potentially complicated case to a clear ruling. "Here, plaintiff would not have been treated the same way if her natal s*x were female, rather than male. [This] is discriminatory on its face and is direct evidence of s*x discrimination."

Meet Lyko, the newest addition to our office. Lyko belongs to one of our attorneys, JC, and will be a daily visitor to the office. He is 7 weeks old and is part Alaskan Malemute and part Irish Wolfhound. He is a sweetheart and we all love him already.
