⚠️ IMPORTANT NOTICE for former clients of immigration attorney Alexandra Lozano (La Luz del Camino Legal)
If you were represented by Alexandra Lozano or her firm, La Luz del Camino Legal, please read this important notice.
What happened?
A lawsuit filed by nine former clients alleges that the firm filed baseless or fraudulent VAWA and T-visa petitions and used clients’ signatures on documents without their knowledge or consent. Ms. Lozano denies any wrongdoing. She is no longer licensed to practice law in Washington State and has been suspended from practicing before USCIS, the immigration courts, and the Board of Immigration Appeals.
USCIS has issued a notice for affected former clients, and the Immigrant Legal Resource Center (ILRC) has published a community alert explaining what you should know.
If you were her client:
📄 1. Get a complete copy of your file from the firm and request your records from USCIS.
📬 2. Update your mailing address with USCIS to help ensure you receive important notices directly.
⚠️ 3. DO NOT withdraw your application or petition before speaking with a reputable immigration attorney or DOJ-accredited representative. Withdrawing your case may have serious consequences, including possible removal proceedings and, in some circumstances, detention.
⚖️ 4. Get a second opinion from a trusted immigration attorney or DOJ-accredited representative as soon as possible.
