In the last hour, we received two calls from folks in our neck of the woods with valid lemon law or breach of warranty claims. Months and months ago, they both hired the SAME law firm based on the West Coast. This law firm has NO attorneys licensed in either of their states, and have now told these clients that being the manufacturer will not settle, they will not be able to litigate and will have to close their files. These cases have been opened for a long time. And no doubt these delays could impact the value of their cases.

When hiring a firm, make sure the firm has lawyers licensed in either the state the vehicle was leased/sold in, the state where the vehicle was registered in, or in the state where the manufacturer is based. Otherwise, you may find yourself stranded and wasting valuable time. Anyone can post anything on the internet. Do you due diligence and ask questions to ensure you are getting the best counsel for you.
