Hi everyone!👋🏼 I haven’t done an intro here in a while, and since I post a lot about my professional and community work already, I thought I’d instead share some fun facts you may not know about me:

❤️ My husband and I are birthday twins (he’s 1 year older). We also went to the same high school in Cincinnati but didn’t know each other. 🤷🏼‍♀️ It wasn’t until grad school — he at , me at — that we met through a mutual high school friend. He’s an Electrophysiologist. ❤️
⠀
🇦🇷 I deferred law school to spend a year in Argentina. A major life goal is to live abroad again (not sure where, maybe multiple places). While in Argentina, I traveled throughout South America and earned my chef’s degree. 🇦🇷
⠀
🍷Because of this, my favorite wine is Malbec.🍷
⠀
🏡 I love design, especially when it comes to home and fashion. One reason we don’t have cable is so I’m not tempted by HGTV. 🏡
⠀
🍁My absolute favorite time of year is the fall. I love the colors changing, crisp air, and cooler weather (which I’d take over hot weather any day). I got married in the fall and my oldest was born in the fall. 🍁

👧🏼🧒🏼 Speaking of kids, my husband and I have two amazing and opinionated kids, a 6 year old daughter and 3 year old son. They know the words to by heart. It blows their minds that “the Bad King” = Krisotoff = Sven (because is brilliant). 👧🏼🧒🏼

🦸🏼‍♀️ If I could have any super power, it would be to speak every single language. Yes, I am a nerd. 🦸🏼‍♀️

Last week was my husband and my anniversary (❤️ 9 years!!! ❤️), and we had our first solo mini-getaway since COVID hit.
⠀
It. Was. So. Good.
⠀
We stayed close to home this year (next year: South Africa 🤞🏼) and hiked beautiful Hocking Hills State Park, Ohio. 🍁🍂
⠀
We drank 🍷and ate greasy 🍕on our Airbnb’s front porch, made s’mores on the fire pit 🔥 (can we all agree that s’mores are mankind’s perfect food?), and, just for a bit, forgot about the heavy that is 2020.

I’ve had the honor the past few months to take part in a Cincinnati based project called the Black Jewish Table of Understanding. 🖤💙🖤💙
⠀
We are spending time getting to know one another (yes, virtually; I cannot wait to actually meet everyone in person), learning from one another, and building meaningful relationships so that we can work together to combat hate, racism, and anti-semitism.
⠀
And we are creating programs for the greater community. Our first is this Wednesday at 7 pm. Below are the details, hope you can join!

Music: A Bridge that Unites Us
⠀
The Black Jewish Table of Understanding, a project of AJC (American Jewish Committee) Cincinnati, and the Urban League of Greater Southwestern Ohio will present Music: A Bridge that Unites Us, via Zoom, on Wednesday, October 28, at 7pm. The interactive program will feature performances by local talent and songs of fellowship in Hebrew and English. Special guests Patti and Bootsy Collins will share their memories of King Records and the Cincinnati music scene and will introduce the video and title track from Bootsy’s newly released album, The Power Of The One.

I am proud to share that in celebration of America’s Black and Jewish communities, and in opposition to antisemitism and racism, the National Urban League and the American Jewish Committee (I serve on its Cincinnati board) are partnering to designate the week of September 7th Black-Jewish Unity Week. This is a historic new partnership!
⠀
The hashtag will be used to promote the unity week’s themes and programs to strengthen Black-Jewish understanding and joint advocacy.
⠀
A key objective of Black-Jewish Unity Week is urging Congress to pass the National Opposition to Hate, Assaults, and Threats to Equality (NO HATE) Act, which would improve hate crime reporting through law enforcement trainings, the creation of reporting hotlines, increasing resources to liaise with affected communities, and public educational forums on hate crimes.

And leaders of the Congressional Black Caucus and the Congressional Caucus on Black-Jewish Relations will introduce a resolution officially designating the week in honor of mutual understanding and recognition of the joint need to combat antisemitism and racism.
