Preston Gunkel had the honor to present the Frances Herron Award to the top all around graduating senior from Altus High School. This award is selected by AHS faculty.

Preston’s Aunt Frances taught in southwest Oklahoma for 42 years. She was the 1979 State Teacher of the Year and finalist for National Teacher of the Year. She loved her students and touched so many lives.

This year’s Frances Herron Award winner is Elysa Miranda! Congratulations and good luck on all of your future endeavors! 🎓
