REFLECTION POST...

As the many years pile on since my deployment to the Iraq war, the time shall never be long enough that I would ever forget the fallen brothers from my battalion who paid the ultimate price for our freedom.

When you lose brothers in arms you never quite feel like the mission is accomplished because you didn't come home with everyone so for me - just like we had written on the wall of the motorpool; that saying remains true...

only the dead see the end of war - Plato.

The question every so often hovers over a combat vets head...why them and not me?

Sometimes you feel guilt that you got lucky and made it back.

Sometimes I feel like my default to 'go hard' everyday is because if I waste my one-life then my brothers will have died in vain.

This is one of the reason I feel that I was able to move beyond the PTSD that a lot of vets experience.

Anyway...

Billy Evans' ( RIP ) brother Gary was in my squad and when Bill died in a IED attack it was almost like the movie 'Saving Private Ryan' because making sure Gary made it home was a must and he did.

Memorial Day is for these guys.

I hope everyone is having a great weekend! And staying dry! 🙂

This is a teaser update on a large 3/4 BR half-double unit with a finished basement and a finished attic.

This home also comes with a large yard as well as a shared rear porch.

I was hoping to have this unit finished this weekend but it will definitely be ready to roll out later this week, after the Memorial day weekend, and in time for the 1st of June, for a family to move in!

My son Levi took on a quick job today to lay exterior carpet on a porch for a client on short notice.

I love seeing my boys taking the lessons learned in the family real estate business and expanding on it to push further.

When Levi, Dayrren, and Gabriel, were in elementary school they made business cards and called themselves BD.JR (Better Dayz Jr.).

Back then it was inspiration for them to follow a family history into business but today they do everything from plumbing, painting, drywalling, to carpenter task and much more!

I never expected them to jump in but I always told them the lesson of teaching a man to fish VS giving a man a fish, and it stuck!

This weekend I had the team take advantage of the weather, knocking out a couple of side-projects at a few properties!

Included were some roofing repairs to a few porches, removal of several old satellite dishes and some tree trimming and landscaping!

Satisfied with the results, this week the focus will be back to working on a 3-4 bedroom unit that will be coming soon!

This is another renovation project that the team has been in (off and on) for quite awhile.

It's actually one of two units but fortunately my schedule is opening up quite a bit so I expect this home - a large 3 Bed with a finished attic - to be ready in the near future.

There was no surprise here that this unit would generate so many inquiries and would move fast!

With that said, we are in the final stages of renovating a large three-bedroom unit with a finished attic that we're hoping to have ready later this month!

We had so many inquiries for this unit that by the time this deal closed we still hadn't cleared a lot of the inquiring applications!
