"People always ask me when "the will is going to be read". This is only done in movies. In reality, there is no dramatic meeting where everyone sits in a room and hears the wishes of their loved one. It is mailed to the court for processing of the probate estate in a very drama free process."

Medical malpractice case settles for the $1 million dollar policy limit.

Sometimes hard work pays off and opponents admit the truth. We recently obtained a settlement for the provider's policy limit of $1,000,000.00. This was unusual for the simple reason that the doctor and the defense lawyer reviewed the facts and the arguments and admitted we would likely prevail. We could have won more than the limit, but that wasn't what my client and I thought was justice. We didn't want to harm the doctor and make him pay out of his pocket. We believed that the coverage limit was reasonable compensation for his part of this disaster. There are other defendants who carry their own fault but won't admit it. We'll just have to see what the jury has to say.

Truth✅
Illinois snow-and-ice cases can be considerably more complicated. Liability can depend on whether the accumulation was natural or unnatural, whether the defendant created or aggravated the condition, contractual obligations, and other facts. A winter fall does not automatically establish liability.
