FULL-TIME LEGAL ASSISTANT NEEDED IN SUNNY ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, FLORIDA!

Attorneys Jennifer Jacobs and Eric Trabin seek a legal assistant and organizer of chaos for their busy criminal defense and family law practice in Altamonte Springs. Ideal candidate will be able to draft and file (form) motions, prepare discovery, and coordinate and schedule hearings, depositions, mediations and meetings with little to no supervision. Other responsibilities include answering and directing phone calls and greeting clients, correspondence with counsel, court and clients, assisting with light accounting and billing, and implementing and improving upon administrative processes for a more efficient workflow.

Two attorney firm located in private suite of offices. Fast paced, but supportive team atmosphere with excellent training, pay, and benefits.

Proficiency with Word, Excel, Florida E-filing Portal, Podio, Headnote, Grabsign, Family Law Software, and Harvest preferred. Spanish speaking a plus. 4 year degree OR 1 year legal experience required.

Florida early voting opened today. Lines in Seminole County are about a 30 minute wait and almost everyone was wearing a mask and social distancing.

If your driver’s license is suspended due to unpaid fines or tickets, almost all of the clerks in FL are offering payment plans with an immediate reinstatement throughout the month of October.

If you have outstanding tickets in Brevard County you can pay them off this weekend and the collections fees are waived! However, please note that the day you pay a ticket is the date of conviction for purposes of assessing points- if you pay too many tickets at once you could end up with a DL suspension for 12 points in 12 months or 18 points in 18 months. Also paying a ticket for Driving While License Suspended Without Knowledge will result in an adjudication or guilt which will count towards a habitual traffic offender 5 year driver’s license suspension.

Physically marking a tire without a warrant is a violation of the Fourth Amendment, a federal appeals court ruled. The amendment protects people from unreasonable searches and seizures.
