Now is the time for your college student to make sure they are registered to vote in their college town OR register to receive a mail-in ballot now. Don’t wait too long; the final date to register for a mail-in ballot is 10/19 and that is cutting it way too close. Plan your vote now! Remember: Voting is YOUR superpower!

Parents: Make sure your college student is registered to vote. If they need a mail-in ballot, they can do that online; and do it now; don’t wait too long. They can go to Vote411.org, or go directly to the PA State site: Vote.PA.gov and click on “register to vote.”

Very upsetting research by the Brennan Center on the number of judges who have been threatened because some don’t like their decisions. We have seen an increasing lack of respect for our judicial branches Federally as well as in our states. Respect for the law is necessary for the continued respect for our democracy. An interesting read.

A new Brennan Center report examines the surge in threats faced by judges and how improving judicial security is essential for protecting the public.

We must be ready by contacting our PA Senators: John Fetterman (D) and Dave McCormick. This bill is based upon very erroneous information about fraud in our elections. This bill saves nothing; it places barriers to registering to vote for millions of people, especially women. Why should any woman have to do anymore than a man to register to vote? And many people don’t have birth certificates: naturalized citizens, those born in rural areas; and those who lost their important documents in the many fires and floods we have experienced in many recent years for example.
Let’s all work at “defending democracy” by calling their offices this week!

Our League in Massachusetts was a huge part of the lawsuit that fought against this Administration’s attempt to engage the USPS in carrying out a very unconstitutional Executive Order involving mail-in balloting. We thank the LWV Massachusetts, for taking the lead on this case! Way to “Defend our Democracy!” Thank you for your work.

A federal court blocked USPS from enforcing key parts of a new mail ballot rule, protecting mail voting access through the November 2026 election.

Today we commemorate the successful fight by American suffragists who fought hard for our right to vote. Women should honor their work by voting in each and every election! Today is also a reminder that so much good can happen when we empower women and when we can provide equal opportunity for women to succeed, lead, teach and impact our younger generation!

Today we commemorate the day when the 19th Amendment was passed and women finally received the right to vote. It was a long, strategic, hard fought battle and we must appreciate that and encourage EVERY woman to vote in every election! This day is also a reminder that progress occurs when women are empowered and when every woman has an equal opportunity to grow,succeed, lead and be an example to younger girls!
