Yesterday, Antonia had the opportunity to present to future environmental litigators at UNM School of Law! She touched on the unexpected portions of the work, current issues, and the process it took to reach settlements for the HPCC fires. Being a New Mexican born and educated attorney, Antonia was able to present in the same place she was student not so long ago. Thank you so much to professor Villa and the rest of the students. The future is looking very bright. ⚖️

We are wishing our own Antonio Romero the best as he begins his semester at the University of Chicago to study Political Science and Economics!

He has been an amazing part of our team as a high school intern, learning about the impacts of wildfires on a community and the recovery process, while also building a strong work ethic. Antonio was a Cardinal Scholar with a 4.339 GPA and ranked 1st of his graduating class of 72. He is the recipient of the Davis Foundations Scholarship and LANL Gold Scholarship. He is First Generation College attendee. We are wishing him the best and know he’ll do great things. 🏆📚🎓

Today’s Tenth Circuit oral argument marks an important step in the fight for Hermit’s Peak/Calf Canyon Fire victims.

Antonia Roybal-Mack and Sean McAfee appeared on behalf of our clients as part of the ongoing effort to ensure non-economic damages are recognized under the Hermit’s Peak/Calf Canyon Fire Assistance Act.

After a 2024 federal court ruling recognized that these damages may be recoverable under the Act, the Government appealed. We remain steadfast in our commitment to advocating for impacted communities and full, fair compensation. Our clients will receive an email update soon with additional details.

FEMA has authorized Public Assistance for the Aspen Acres Fire area following the federal government’s major disaster declaration.

Public Assistance supports eligible disaster-related costs and community recovery efforts. It does not, however, provide compensation to individual property owners. For individual losses, recovery remains largely dependent on insurance coverage, which may not extend to certain secondary costs or damage resulting from subsequent weather events.
