Today, I want to take a moment to appreciate someone who has played such a big role in the journey of Duarte & Co., my husband, David.
A lot of you have watched my business grow over the years, but what many of you don’t know is the story behind it and the person who has supported me every step of the way.
When I first decided to take on a second job preparing taxes part-time, David supported me. When I made the scary decision to quit my full-time job and focus completely on growing my business, he supported me then, too.
I remember being so afraid of what that decision would mean for us financially. I worried that I was putting too much on his shoulders and that things might get difficult. But instead of allowing me to doubt myself, he reminded me that with God, all things are possible.
And that’s something I’ve carried with me ever since.
There were so many long nights, stressful days, and countless hours spent at the office. Some days I would get so caught up in work that I’d forget to eat or even drink water. David was always the one making sure I took care of myself. He would bring me food, check on me, and sometimes just sit at the office with me for hours, keeping me company while I worked.
When I was overwhelmed, he’d remind me not to stress, that everything would work out.
And somehow, it always did.
He’s seen the struggles, the sacrifices, the moments of doubt, and the things that nobody else sees. He’s believed in this business from the very beginning, even when it was just a dream I was trying to turn into something bigger.
I share this because sometimes people see a successful business and only see the person running it. But behind that person, there’s often someone making sacrifices, offering encouragement, and helping hold everything together.
For me, that person has always been David.
Every time someone congratulates me on how far Duarte & Co. has come, I can’t help but think about everything he has done to help me get here.
Because the truth is, Duarte & Co. wouldn’t be where it is today without him.
I’m beyond grateful for every single client who has trusted me, supported me, referred someone to me, and helped this business grow. But today, I wanted to recognize the man who believed in me before any of this became what it is today.
And here’s something that makes this journey even more meaningful to me.
Duarte & Co. carries his last name. Our last name.
That name means so much more to me than just a sign on a building or a business I’ve worked hard to grow. It represents our family, our sacrifices, our faith, and everything we’ve been through to get here.
David has never needed to be the face of the business to be one of the biggest reasons for its success. He’s been behind the scenes, cheering me on, making sacrifices, and reminding me that I was capable of doing everything I set my mind to.
I may be the one running the business, but this journey has never been mine alone.
I’m proud of how far Duarte & Co. has come, but what makes me even prouder is knowing that we’re building something our children can one day look back on and say, “Our parents built that.” 🥹❤️
Something that started as a dream has become so much bigger than I ever imagined, and I know we’re not done yet.
Duarte & Co. isn’t just a business name. It’s our family name. It’s our hard work, our sacrifices, our faith, and most importantly, our legacy.
So when you see Duarte & Co., know that there’s a man behind that name who believed in this dream from day one.
Thank you, David, for loving me, believing in me, supporting every crazy idea I’ve had, and never letting me forget what I’m capable of.
This isn’t just my success. This is OUR legacy. ❤️
