FINCEN PERMANENTLY ENDS BOI REPORTING REQUIREMENTS FOR U.S. COMPANIES

FinCEN has announced a final rule permanently removing the requirement for U.S. companies and U.S. persons to report Beneficial Ownership Information (BOI) under the Corporate Transparency Act.

They have also announced that it will delete previously reported BOI submitted by U.S. persons who are now exempt from the reporting requirements.

Foreign entities that remain reporting companies will still be required to report beneficial ownership information for foreign individuals.

After years of changes, deadlines, court decisions and uncertainty surrounding the Corporate Transparency Act, this represents a significant and final change for millions of U.S. small business owners.

Accumera has followed the CTA and BOI reporting requirements closely throughout their implementation and the many changes that followed. We’ll have a full update on our blog reviewing how we got here and what this final rule means.
