Survivors of abuse within the Albany Diocese have come one step closer to finally closing one chapter of their fight for justice, thanks to the Official Committee of Tort Claimants and our very own Cynthia LaFave. After years of work this Committee, joined by LaFave, Wein, Frament & Karic and Jeff Anderson and Associates, together with other counsel, have finally reached a settlement against the Diocese of Albany. The Albany Diocese has agreed to pay ONE HUNRED AND FORTY-EIGHT MILLION ($148,000,000.00) DOLLARS to the survivors.

Finally the voices of the survivors, so long oppressed, are being heard and acknowledged. We are honored and privileged to be a part of this historic fight and historic settlement. Our heartfelt thanks to all the survivors for their courage, persistence, tenacity, perseverance, grit, and resolution. What they do today will continue to protect children always.

This result is more than a legal outcome; it represents accountability, validation, and a step forward for those who have long deserved to be heard.

We remain committed to advocating for survivors, amplifying their voices, and pursuing justice wherever it leads.

Super huge congratulations to our partner Jason Frament who yesterday took a $2,750,000 verdict in a complex medical malpractice case in Cayuga County. The defense never offered a single penny to settle! Jason fought through it and secured this amazing verdict!
