Joseph W. Dent, P.C. Is officially closed. Today, I officially became the newest Judge of the Superior Court of the Dougherty Judicial Circuit. What a wonderful swearing in ceremony. My mother always said she wanted me to be a judge, and my Aunt Barbara Bone, the sole surviving sibling of my mother honored me by holding a Bible my grandfather gave to my grandmother. My grandmother and I shared a birthday. A special lifelong memory I’ll never forget. Thank you to all those who attended, family, judges, legislators, former partners, hunting buddies, and friends. The ceremony ended with my cousin, Elizabeth Bone Terry, “pinning”me with my new badge. Thank you to all those who supported me on this journey. Without you, it would not have been possible. I promise to make you proud by working hard to serve the citizens, litigants, and attorneys in effectively and efficiently conducting the business of the court. Finally, it’s pretty neat that as Judge Dent, my monogram and logo will remain the same!
