It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of one of our beloved partners, Jeffrey E. Hurd. Jeff was an integral part of the fabric and success of our partnership and one of the reasons this firm has been going for so many years. Jeff was an incredible trial lawyer who was respected by all his peers. He was a former president of the Federal Court bar Association for the Northern District of New York and earned many accolades during his career. More than that, Jeff was a great friend and colleague and he will be sorely missed by everyone at Burke, Scolamiero & Hurd.

Burke, Scolamiero & Hurd is pleased to announce that Andrea Demers was recently named a partner at the firm. Andrea joined the firm in 2021. A graduate of Colgate University and William & Mary School of Law, Andrea has spent her career in civil defense, concentrating her practice on medical malpractice, premises liability, motor vehicle accidents, employment matters, and other insurance defense. Always a zealous advocate for her clients throughout every stage of litigation, Andrea has become an invaluable trial attorney with the firm.
