For anyone interested in the Oxford comma debate, it has real life implications. The Maine Court of Appeals recently held a company liable for $10 million in overtime because the overtime exemption laws left out a comma, and the exemption for the "packing for shipment or distribution of" agricultural goods meant that only the act of packing was exempt, instead of exemptions for the separate acts of "packing for shipment" and of "distribution." That is a hard lesson in grammar.
