Great result today in Noble County. Our client, a 71 year old veteran, was charged with felonious assault of two peace officers, felonies of the first degree because the officers claimed he let his dogs out after them and shot his dogs. Charges were dropped to lesser offenses with agreement to probation, the client was released from house arrest. The facts are not always as they seem. Never judge a book by its cover.

Justice was served here. Remember, the government can accuse anyone of anything, at any time. Accusation isn’t proof — it’s just noise until the facts speak. I am thankful that the jury kept an open mind despite the nature of the charges and photos introduced. Client can now move on with his life without being labeled as an animal abuser, something he clearly is not. Shoutout to Donald Pond who wrote and argued the appeal. -O.M.
