VACCINE INJURY CLAIMS

The law firm of Scanlon and Elliott represents children and adults who have been injured by vaccines. While vaccines prevent serious and life-threatening diseases, in rare cases these same vaccines can cause serious injury and even death. The adverse effects of vaccines include, but are not limited to, Guillain Barré Syndrome, shoulder injuries related to vaccine administration, chronic arthritis, anaphylaxis, and encephalopathy or encephalitis.

As a result of these adverse effects, the Federal Government created the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (“VICP”) to compensate persons who, as a result of the administration of vaccine, have suffered injury or death. The program allows injured people to make a claim for past and future expenses, past and future lost wages, along with non-economic damages such as past and future pain and suffering for injuries caused by a VICP-covered vaccine. Attorney fees are paid by the program. The program compensates the attorney for the injured party so that the injured party does not have to pay the attorney out of the monies that have been awarded.

Scanlon and Elliott’s attorneys have experience in the preparation and handling of vaccine claims on behalf of injured people. Our attorneys are admitted to practice in the United States Court of Federal Claims, which is the court that hears and tries these cases.

LAW FIRMS HAVE BEEN DESIGNATED AS ESSENTIAL BUSINESS AND WILL REMAIN OPEN

As the COVID-19 concerns continue, and Ohio’s Director of Health and Governor Mike DeWine have issued a Stay At Home Order for Ohioans, we want to update you on how we at SCANLON & ELLIOTT will operate to best serve you during this difficult time.

We will keep our office open following CDC guidelines for safety and social distancing.

We take your legal matters, as well as your personal well-being, very seriously and aim to provide you with as much support as possible. Whenever possible we will meet with you via telephone, Skype or videoconference. However, if we need to meet in person, we will do the following:
• Designate six-foot distances, to ensure six-foot spacing for employees and customers.
• Have hand sanitizer and other sanitizing products available for employees and customers.
• Implement separate operating hours for elderly and vulnerable clients.

With an abundance of caution and concern for our clients, staff and community we are enacting these temporary measures to ensure safety for everyone.

Unfortunately, there is going to be interruption that is beyond our control. We are already seeing trial dates, depositions, etc. continued. We will keep you informed. Given today’s technology, our team can work remotely when necessary, while continuing to provide you the high-quality service you expect.

Rest assured your legal needs are being handled with a minimum of interruption. We appreciate your understanding during these unprecedented times.
