Memorable month in Family Court Law, to include the prospective abolition of "Common Law Marriage" in South Carolina. Our state Supreme Court also made it harder to prove an existing common law marriage. So...if you think that you are in a common law marriage and are relying on those protections you may wish to schedule a consult.
